Rotax Circa 1934

Leaning heavily on the art deco stylised format of the 1930s this almost abstract advertisement for Rotax electrical equipment graced the pages of many aeronautical journals and books of that period. Rotax produced a wide range of electrical equipment for the aviation industry and motor manufacturers at that time. By the mid 1960s they were one of the predominant designers and producers of electrical and starting systems for the aircraft and engine industry with subsidiaries (Lucas-Rotax) in Australia and Canada. Today the name lives on as Bombardier-Rotax (Austria) manufacturing a variety of 2 and 4 stroke piston engines for the light aviation market.
